Mike Looks Back

Ukraine and The Czar

Georgia will host a four-team friendly tournament in its capital Tbilisi August 7-9 leading up to FIBA’s qualifying tournament for EuroBasket 2013. Ukraine will be joined in Georgia by Estonia and Belarus. Unfortunately we got stuck at the airport all day due to engine problems with our plane. Hopefully we will make it to Tbilisi in time to get a good night’s sleep before the tourney gets underway tomorrow.

Ukraine and The Czar

Our coaching staff stopped by Ukraine’s under-18 national team practice at the beginning of training camp.

Ukraine and The Czar

Ukraine placed second in the AeroSvit Cup 2012. We beat Belarus 69-61 in Round 2 of the international tournament. It was a close competition throughout. Ukraine was down by two at halftime, but our bench did an excellent job to help our team to a victory.

Ukraine lost a tough game to to Israel in the finals, 74-68. Ukraine led 43-41 at the half. But Israel made big plays down the stretch and came out with the hard-fought win.
